MIOSHA
Update Seminar
Our six hour MIOSHA Update
Seminar will cover three major topics of current interest with
emphasis on many new and changed requirements.
MIOSHAs Bloodborne Pathogens
Standard Update
You will learn about the
basic requirements of the MIOSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard
(BPS) with emphasis on portions of the law that are most commonly
misunderstood. Youll also learn about several new Interpretations
of the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard and how they now affect
BPS enforcement. These include:
Format and location
of the written BPS Exposure Control Plan.
Use of generic versus site-specific
employee training.
Incorporating new Interpretations into employee
training materials.
Employee waiver of rights regarding post-exposure blood
testing.
Legality of using pre-filled syringes with affixed, non-protected
needles.
MIOSHAs New First Aid
& Eyewash Enforcement Guidelines
On January 1, 2009, MIOSHA
began enforcing 17 pages of new Inspection Guidelines covering
MIOSHA Rule Part 472: Medical Services and First Aid. This rule
requires all employers to provide immediate first aid to employees
who may be injured at work. This requirement even applies to
a single employee working alone. They are also enforcing 10 pages
of new Inspection Guidelines dealing with emergency eyewashes
and safety showers in workplaces handling materials that could
injure the eyes or skin.
MIOSHAs New Safety
& Health Management Enforcement Guidelines
On December 10, 2008, MIOSHA
published 18 pages of new Inspection Guidelines requiring Inspectors
to evaluate your business Safety and Health Management
System if you are selected for a comprehensive
inspection. The new Inspection Guidelines cover five major elements:
Management Commitment and Planning, Employee Involvement, Worksite
Analysis, Hazard Prevention and Control, and Safety and Health
Training. There are also 32 sub-elements that are included in
the evaluation for General Industry employers.
Questions will be taken and
answered throughout the presentation.

Great
course - Excellent instructor - I LEARNED A LOT!
You are the best. We get more information from you than
any of the others out there.
Ive been to many MIOSHA seminars. Yours is the most
useful and understandable I have attended.
The instructor was great, spoke in a clear tone, was very
polite, and was very informative. I walked away with more knowledge
than what I walked in with.
Ron does an excellent job on a very confusing topic.
Always learn something new - even after all the years Ive
been coming to the class.
I have been coming to these classes for over 10 years now
and find new information every year.
Great presenter! He did a great job talking about dull
material.

In
Michigan MIOSHA writes their own safety regulations and in many
cases they contain extra requirements not found in OSHA regulations.
In fact, you can be 100% in compliance with OSHA rules and still
be fined by MIOSHA!
MIOSHAs Bloodborne Pathogens Standard is a classic example.
The MIOSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard has additional protective
equipment and procedural requirements not found in the comparable
OSHA Standard.

most of your time and money by attending our
