MIOSHA's Young Worker Initiative
- "Extreme Safety"
Michigan's youngest workers
are the target of a new MIOSHA initiative called "Extreme
Safety." According to MIOSHA, the program is designed to
give young workers information on common hazards found at work
and their rights under MIOSHA regulations.
A new brochure, "Extreme
Safety: Important Facts for Working Teens," (pdf
or html)
is available online and through the Consultation Education and
Training (CET) Division of MIOSHA.
MIOSHA has also developed
a PowerPoint® program, "Extreme
Safety," which is available online. We've downloaded
and reviewed the PowerPoint® presentation and find
it would be useful in training new young employees.
